The chalk line is a tool meant for making straight lines.
Who uses it and why?
Architects, designers and engineers would use this tool the most. This tool will allow them to make long distance or short distance lines straight for their design.
What materials can they be used on
The chalk line can be used on anything you want to make a straight line on.
How is it used?
To use this tool, first you need to fill up the container with chalk (about halfway will do). Then, pull out the string that’s in the chalk box, as much as you need, make sure it’s tight. The chalk will be on the string, so when the string is over where it’s needed, lift up the string at around 4 inches high, and then let it go. Let it snap to the floor. The chalk on the string should leave a mark on the floor, giving you the straight line you need.
What are the distinctive features?
The distinctive features of the chalk line are the string in the box and the reel on the side that tightens the string.
